For generations, Kentuckians have responsibly exercised this right to defend their families, hunt, participate in shooting sports, and pass treasured traditions down to their children.
Congressman Comer is a strong defender of the Second Amendment and opposes all efforts by the federal government to restrict the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens. He has voted against legislation that would criminalize private firearm transfers, create unnecessary delays for lawful purchases, and move the country closer to a national gun registry. He has advocated for individuals with concealed carry privileges in their home state to be permitted to do so in any other state and supports efforts to stop anti-gun states and groups that try to limit access to firearms by going after gun manufacturers and dealers. Congressman Comer believes the government should focus on holding violent criminals accountable, not creating new barriers for responsible gun owners. He will continue standing with Kentucky gun owners and defending the Constitution against federal overreach.
