Military Servicemembers and Veterans

Kentucky’s 1st Congressional District is proudly home to Fort Campbell, the 101st Airborne Division, thousands of military families, and veterans who have sacrificed to defend our nation.

Congressman Comer is committed to supporting a strong national defense, maintaining military readiness, improving the quality of life for servicemembers and their families, and ensuring Fort Campbell has the resources needed to carry out its mission.

Congressman Comer has supported defense legislation that delivers pay raises for Kentucky’s servicemembers and strengthens Fort Campbell’s facilities and operations, including the construction of new barracks and other important infrastructure needs. He has also supported bills that include billions of dollars for veterans’ medical care and benefits, to ensure the federal government keeps its promise to those who have sacrificed so much. He works to hold the Department of Veterans Affairs accountable and ensure veterans receive the healthcare and services they have earned. His staff regularly meets with veterans at the VFW Post in Frankfort to address federal casework matters and provide assistance. Each year, Congressman Comer also nominates exceptional students from Kentucky’s 1st District to attend our nation’s military service academies. Serving Kentucky’s servicemembers, veterans, and their families remains one of his highest priorities.
