February 26, 2020 - The United Mine Workers of America recognized Kentucky Congressman Comer for his legislative efforts to save the healthcare and retirement benefits of Kentucky coal miners and their families.

After meeting with Congressman Comer in his Washington office, representatives of the UMWA presented him with an award for his support of the Bipartisan American Miners Act of 2019.

The legislation protects the pension benefits of many Kentucky miners and their families while also extending health insurance benefits to those impacted by recent bankruptcies within the coal industry.
