WASHINGTON – On February 5, 2025, Congressman James Comer (R-Ky.) received Waterways Council Inc.’s (WCI) 21st Annual Leadership Service Award for his steadfast, continued leadership on inland waterways and port issues. Kentucky’s 1,590 miles of rivers are vital to the transportation of nearly 79 million tons of freight, valued at over 5 billion dollars, and these waterways provide a safe and efficient way to transport essential commodities that Americans need. Congressman Comer will continue to advocate for Western Kentucky’s leading inland waterways system in the nation’s capital.
