WASHINGTON – Continuing to set himself apart from the rest of Congress with respect to personal transparency, Congressman James Comer was one of six members of 535 members of Congress to disclose his entire 2016 tax returns.

Roll Call magazine requested each of the 435 representatives and 100 senators release their entire 2016 tax returns. Despite the public disclosure of President Trump’s tax returns being a major issue in Washington, only six members of Congress actually fully responded to the request. Comer was one and was featured in the national article.

“I believe that when someone files for the highest public offices that the citizens have a right to know how much income as well as the sources of income of those highest ranking elected public officials,” Comer said in the Roll Call article.

Congressman Comer has granted full access to the media over the entire eight months he has served in Congress as well as created a transparency link on his website, www.comer.house.gov.  It includes information regarding his taxes and his Congressional budget expenses.
