WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman James Comer (KY-01) released the following statement upon the passage of Kate’s Law and the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act:

“When I came to Congress, I made a promise to crack down on illegal immigration. Today, I made that promise a reality by voting for two bills that do just that, Kate’s Law and the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act.

These two bills enhance public security by fighting dangerous sanctuary policies that protected criminal immigrants from being deported, and create harsher penalties for deported felons that come back to the U.S.

I’m proud to support these two common sense pieces of legislation to help keep Americans safer.”
