WASHINGTON-Today, Congressman James Comer (R-Ky.) recognized local student Jackson Boone for recently completing a spring internship in his Washington D.C. office. While serving Kentucky’s 1st Congressional District, Jackson was dedicated to helping Congressman Comer’s staff conduct Capitol tours, respond to constituent inquiries, and research critical legislation.

“Jackson was an invaluable member of my Washington, D.C. office this spring, and I want to express my gratitude for his exceptional service to Kentucky’s 1st Congressional District. His contributions were vital in supporting both my team and countless Kentuckians. I’m excited to witness the bright future that awaits him and look forward to following his continued success,” Congressman Comer said.

Jackson Boone, a Marshall County native, is pursuing his undergraduate degree at Baylor University studying Mechanical Engineering and is an active member of Baylor Ambassadors.

“This internship has allowed me many opportunities to grow in my professional career and improve my flexibility and adaptability. It was always interesting coming in to work for Congressman Comer because you never knew who would walk through the door,” Boone said.

In the Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. They may be asked to answer phones, run errands, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House.
